Boogiepop wa Warawanai T.V. Media Review Episode 2

Hey, want to make slaves together?

We’ve had our introduction, so now it’s time to piece together everything. Boogiepop’s emergence wasn’t without a purpose, after all. Anyhow, our world ending threat truthfully began as a simple visit from beyond. This visitor came to judge us humans, though he would soon find himself captured. At the hands of a unknown organization, he was cloned. The clone wasn’t quite like him, though. It became a man-eater and escaped the facility containing it. During the confusion our visitor from beyond was also able to escape. Now, he may be free but he won’t escape Earth or stay stay hidden. A monster has been unleashed upon his world, and he plans to go after it. Unfortunately, in his current state he won’t be able to do much. As we saw twice, he had to be helped up by others. Fortunately, one of those kind spirits gave him refuge. Naoko made sure he was taken care of and gave him a name. Sadly her involvement with Echoes would be her undoing, although not before she involved a friend. The highly rumored girl, Kirima, is on the case.

There’s been a recent number of runaway cases involving girls, yet there’s more going on here. Saotome would be first to stumble upon what would become a string of disappearances. The clone that escaped had hidden himself within a school. It was here it planned to begin a covert human feast. While going after his first victim, he was caught by Saotome. Saotome would be its next target, although when these two devils saw eye to eye they quickly hit it off. The devious student and the monster joined forces. Together they planned to build an army, unfortunately their plan just wasn’t fated to work. The “drug” they used only broke the girls. Meanwhile, they were being closed on upon. Kirima had been hard at work collecting information on all the recent happenings. Once her friend had vanished as well, it was time to get to the bottom of things. She’s teamed up with Echoes, and now that monster’s days are numbered.

It should be noted that how events were displayed in episodes 1 and 2 are not in order. The above should straighten out most it, though. So, while we learned of Boogiepop in episode 1, all these events were also taking place. Right now we’re at the point where the mysterious other party is about to deal with the world ending threat. However, we’ve already seen the man-eaters end. There’s a head to be rolled in episode 3. Anyhow, the promised new world was not to be. Enjoy the feast while it last, Manticore!
